CAE (Computer Aided Engineering)

CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) was a technology developed in astronautical engineering for the construction design and performance evaluation of materials on a computer based on various data. Now, CAE plays a very important role in the field such as the auto industry, the household electronic appliance industry for the reduction of the number of trial production, shortening of the development period, and decreasing of the cost. Similar to the case that the handwritten documents became electronic documents by using the Word Processor, the design drawings become electronic data in a computer. Based on the electronic data, we can do many things such as the calculation of strength and the preparation of controlling program for machinery processing. Mitsuboshi Belting uses CAE in the designs of the main products such as belts and resin casts. Various performance studies are done based on the electronic data in the computer instead of actually preparing and evaluating the trial product. CAE reduces the use of energy and resources and therefore it is an environment-friendly technology.
