- Civil Engineering Water-shielding Materials
Once a manmade "biotope" has been created, lined with clay like a natural pond and greenery planted around it, it becomes just like a natural pond where dragonflies and insects gather.
By creating biotopes in parks, and elementary schools and junior-high schools in urban areas, we take part in nurturing nature.
Key points in creating biotopes
Please keep the following points in mind when designing a pond.
(1) The size of the sheet is to be determined by the shape of the pond. Extra allowance should be given for seams and the sheet embedding area.
(2) The sheets should be laid so that there are no creases or bubbling. If riprap stones are to be used in the pond, the sheet for that area should be double-layered.
