Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene UHMW

UHMW is an ultrahigh molecular Weight Polyethylene with a molecular weight between 5 and 9 million, making it by far one of the polymer materials with the highest molecular density. It cannot be differentiated with other general High Density Polyethylenes (with molecular weights of several 10,000s to several 100,000s) regarding characteristics such as color and appearance; however, physically and chemically-wise, UHMW is far superior.

Benefits

  • 1. Doesn't wear easily
    Having an incredibly high molecular weight, UHMW proves its true worth not only in regards to sliding with metal faces, but also sand, powder and other fields where normal wear-resistant materials struggle.
  • 2. Excellent sliding ability
    UHMW has an extremely low friction coefficient. It is comparable to PTFE, which also slides well.
  • 3. Doesn't crack easily
    UHMW has a level of shock resistance simply not found in other materials. Does not break easily unless affected chemically.
  • 4. Non-adhesive
    Highly non-adhesive. With a non-adhesiveness second only to PTFE, UHMW is optimal as a material for the inner liners of containers such as hoppers, silos and chutes.
  • 5. Non-toxic and safe
    A physically non-toxic material. Great for use with food products, UHMW can also be used in the medical field.
  • 6. Difficult to penetrate
    Features excellent chemical resistance.
  • 7. Doesn't absorb water.
    UHMW has an absorption rate of virtually zero, therefore its strength does not deteriorate due to swelling caused by water absorption.

UHMW-ASB Black

UHMW-ASB is a grade with high antistatic performance. Its electrical volume resistivity is at a very low level of 102Ω·m, thus making it suitable to use as a static protection in LCD and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Wear Tape

Wear Tape is a pressure-resistant, abrasion-resistant tape made by adding an adhesive to an UHMW polyethylene film. It is designed to easily protect surfaces that are subjected to severe wear.

Having excellent properties such as outstanding abrasion-resistance, superior non-adhesiveness and a low friction coefficient, Wear Tape is extremely useful as an item kept on hand for machine maintenance and emergency response.
